Many people have asked me about the Law of Attraction and if there are any scientific facts behind it. As an individual that has worked with the Law of Attraction before, I’ve wondered the same thing. Is the LOA some mystical power that we all have within ourselves, is it something that science can prove, or… well… is it just a load of crap?
The very first time I attempted to obtain something with the LOA, it took me by surprise. It was just a test, really, and one that was conducted with skepticism. I mean ‘all I have to do is ask God for something, do nothing but think of it constantly, and I’ll get it?’ Right… if it were that easy, everyone would have all they ever wanted. Regardless, I set up my test on LOA. I asked God to have Jimmy bring me home some pink roses. Sounds like a stupid request, right? Well… Jimmy wasn’t fond of buying people flowers since they die within a few days. So, this would be a good test for the LOA. On a note card, I wrote “Jimmy will bring me pink roses within 24-hours.” As I worked throughout the day, I occasionally glanced at the note card. When I heard Jimmy’s keys in the door the next day, I went to greet him like I normally do and opened the door. Mixed emotions flooded me when I saw him. He stood there, holding a potted pink tea rose plant! I was shocked because, one) of the pink roses! AND two) because the roses were not what I envisioned (but that was my fault since I wasn’t specific enough). You have to understand that Jimmy and I are that weird couple that likes to do everything together. The fact that he went to the market without me was in itself odd! So… was this just a very strange coincidence or was there more to it? I had to know more.
Since then, I’ve done a great deal of study about the Law of Attraction and its brother, the Law of Vibration. In fact, I have ‘manifested’ many things since I started. The thing is, how do you measure/prove something that you can’t see/touch/taste/smell/hear? I found a really great article on the Huffington Post about the LOA and its evidence. In the article they say,
Recent brain imaging studies are rapidly showing that the brain does in fact conform in its function to the “Law of Attraction”. Perhaps the most convincing evidence to date has been the discovery of “mirror neurons”. At first seen in monkeys, scientists eventually found a set of “mirror neurons” in humans that mirror the behavior of someone who is being observed. That is, when we observe someone doing something, the same pattern of brain activation that allows that person to do what they are doing (e.g. lifting up their right hand or smiling) is mirrored in the brain of the observer. It is as if the observer is doing those same things. Activations are seen in the premotor and parietal cortex of the brain: regions that prepare the body for movement and attention. Thus, our brains appear to mirror the actions of another person automatically. Similarly, when we act, the brains of others will fire in a similar way. Our actions cause similar action-representations in the brains of others.
Think for a moment about how great you feel while watching a high-speed car chase or tremendous acrobatics. Your own brain sets up a simulation as though you are actually doing these things. You start to feel as though you are the pole-vaulter or the ice-skater since your brain mirrors the actions of those you are watching.

As I do more and more tests, I will be posting them here. But, for the time being, I welcome you to conduct the 24-hour experiment of your own. Here’s how to do this:
- Take a piece of paper and write down EXACTLY what you’d like to manifest within 24-hours. Make it be something unusual or different so that when it happens, you know it was delivered via the LOA. Be sure to put a date and time on it 24-hours in the future.
- Close your eyes and visualize yourself tomorrow having witnessed/possessing whatever you wrote down. It could be seeing a purple and green butterfly flit through your garden, a friend stopping by that you haven’t seen in years, or finding some money in an unexpected place. Imagine how this will feel to you!
- Repeat step two as often as you can and be sure to push away thoughts of “this is bogus” or “this isn’t going to work”. As the LOA states, what you think about most you’ll attract. If you are thinking something isn’t going to work… it won’t.
- Be positive.
I’d like anyone who takes this test to write to me and let me know how it went!
Good luck and remember to chase butterflies!
